Aerial views

Grand Teton Mountains in background, May 2008

A couple of weeks ago B was able to do some aerial surveying with a colleague, and he took these photos while they were flying.

A little closer to home:

(I can see B's building at the university, C's elementary school, and our home/neighborhood all in this photo.)

May flowers and showers

We finally got some rain today instead of snow! This winter/early spring has been record-breaking for cold, and I'm so glad it's over. This is also our first spring in 4 years--it's always green and flowery and summery in the UAE--so it's been fun to see things come back to life here after a long winter.

While in the UAE, K read The Secret Garden, and ever since she's been wanting her own "bit of earth" to grow flowers in. She's loving it here. All these beautiful bulbs were here for us when we moved in, but we'll be planting some seeds of our own later this month.
